Hoarfrost Gallery It started with a wet snowfall on New Year’s Eve. Then a cold inversion layer settled in, trapping moisture and preventing the snow from melting for several foggy weeks in January of 2004. Night after night, the stillness of the air allowed the fog to freeze into some of the most amazing hoarfrost I have ever seen. I took these photos around 4 am on different nights over those weeks. — Steve Click any photo to enlarge.
